Today marks the beginning of the Egypt shows. Check out today's soundcheck. Then followed by a 3 night run. What an experience it must have been for fans, crew, and the band. Some say they weren't the greatest shows, but then again it was a much hyped and monumental undertaking, and you know how those shows went. I personally like the shows, but I am in a 1978 phase right now. Where else can you get a more magnificent stage drop, the Great Pyramids.

9.13.78 Charlie Miller says the 'SBD' is actually an AUD, both sound good so go with this AUD so you can Archive it for yourself. The soundcheck is pretty interesting to listen to.

I was in Egypt at the start of June and caught a light show at night in front of the Pyramids. The weather was awesome and I kept imagining the Dead in front of me and saying and saying and saying...

I do like quite a few shows in '78, but the Egypt run only stands out to me for mostly historical purposes. When it came to this string of shows, I always went for the 16th. The Ollin>Fire>Iko is probably the highlight of the run for me.

However, I wasn't aware of the soundcheck on the 13th and, being a big fan of Ollin Arageed, this is right up my alley. Thanks for posting!

I think the thing I like about the shows is daydreaming what people were doing and seeing there. Yeah, there are other shows that I prefer. The close encounters show, the mescalin show, duke, and on and on. 5.14.78 LIG has been a favorite around here as of late.
